Do you ever catch yourself always saying no. Before I was conscious about it, I swear I was saying no to my toddler 30 times a day. “No, don’t do that”, “No, don’t touch that”. You see what happens when you always say no is that your toddler eventually tunes you out. Unless she is creating a dangerous situation for herself (then by all means scream NO), try phrasing your command positively instead.¬†Instead of saying “No! Don’t take your shoes off in the car!” try: “Leave them on until we get home, and then you can run around without them.”
