4. NEVER Avoid Holding Them

Being held in safe arms is as important to a baby as being fed and changed. It allows them a deep sense of relaxation and security that they receive nowhere else. When baby’s are not held pain responses are activated. Moreover, limited touch in early life leads to an underdevelopment of serotonin receptors, endogenous opioids and oxytocin—the chemicals that are related to happiness. Babies should be touched and feel welcomed in adults arms.
